Tour Itinerary

Day2

• Travel from your hometown to the Capitol of our great nation! Meet your Tour Director who will stay with you throughout your entire trip. Our private coach and Motor Coach Driver will be waiting for us.
• Let’s get started by visiting a few of the Smithsonian Institution Museums on the National Mall. Some of the most popular among students are:
  • The Air and Space Museum with artifacts of the history of flight from the Wright Brothers all the way to Mars!
  • The Natural History Museum where a giant squid and the Hope Diamond are just a few of the artifacts in their magnificent collection.
  • The American History Museum’s permanent collection has such iconic items as Dorothy’s Ruby Slippers, Archie Bunker’s Chair and the original Kermit the Frog. But don’t miss seeing the flag that inspired our National Anthem or the exhibit on the Presidency.
• Like every night on tour, we will enjoy a relaxing dinner together.
• Best seen at night, this evening we visit monuments to America’s greatest public figures and memorials to our greatest patriots, some of which include:
  • The Jefferson Monument
  • The Lincoln Monument
  • The Martin Luther King Memorial
  • The Vietnam Memorial
  • The World War II Memorial
  • The Washington Monument

Day2

• The Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery is an awe-inspiring moment for your students.
• Our first performance comes this afternoon in the atrium of ­­­­­­­the National Portrait Gallery, where Abraham Lincoln’s inaugural ball was held.
• What better way to celebrate our success than with a dinner cruise on the Potomac River? The DJ will have even your shyest student making new friends on the dance floor.

Day3

• We’ll visit all three branches of government this morning, starting with a fabulous group picture in front of the White House.
• A tour of the United States Capitol, including the beautiful artwork of Constantio Brumidi inside the Rotunda will inspire all of the future lawmakers in your group. We’ll eat lunch with the interns!
• Walk through the tunnel to the Library of Congress and see a copy of the Gutenberg Bible, Thomas Jefferson’s book collection, and the breathtaking reading room.
• Stop for a quick picture at the Supreme Court Building.
• Our afternoon performance at the National Cathredral rounds out our social calendar.
• Back down Embassy Row to an evening show at the JFK Center for the Performing Arts.

Day4

• Participate in an adjudicated performance and workshop at American University
• Have the privilege of attending a customized master class workshop by a university professor
• Packed with interactive exhibits that explore how news affects our experience of historic moments, the Newseum is perhaps the best interactive experience Washington, D.C. has to offer. Your students will get involved!
• Attend a farewell dinner
• Attend a musical performance at the Lincoln Center

Day5

• Enjoy a musical performance exchange at a local high school- teach, learn, and meet new friends!
• We say goodbye and travel back to our hometown.
